American Red Cross responds to Apartment West Side of Green Bay |
The American Red Cross Lakeland Chapter responded to an apartment fire that occurred around 8:30pm on Thursday, October 23, on the west side of Green Bay, affecting five adults and three children. Four American Red Cross Disaster workers assisted the one family with two adults and three children with lodging, meals, monetary assistance for clothing, and provided comfort kits (which includes soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, comb, facial tissue, deodorant, razors, shaving cream and lotion) home-made quilts and stuffed animals. The other three adults affected were provided lodging and comfort kits. This makes the fifth fire in a week’s time that the American Red Cross Lakeland Chapter has responded to within its chapter jurisdiction. We have assisted a total of 14 adults and six children for home fires that have occurred in De Pere, Luxemburg, Sturgeon Bay, and two in Green Bay. Red Cross disaster assistance is free and is made possible by community donations. You can help individuals of this disaster and others by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Lakeland Chapter’s local disaster relief fund.
