March is Red Cross Month: Heroes Needed to Lead Fundraising Efforts

Across the United States, March is recognized as American Red Cross Month. As one of the nation’s best known and humanitarian organizations, the Red Cross has been at the forefront of Americans prevent, prepare for and respond to large and small disasters for 127 years. Communities depend on the Red Cross in times of need and the Red Cross depends on the support of the American people to achieve its mission. Therefore, we are looking for Heroes.

This year, the Red Cross is taking time to highlight volunteers and employees who demonstrate such compassion and generosity. We rely on everyday heroes to give their time and talents to help others through CPR, first aid and automated external defibrillator training, disaster preparation and response, drive seniors and those with disabilities to need appointments and to make sure we have safe and ready blood supply.

Across this community, the Red Cross is an organization people can rely on for help, comfort, assistance and compassion. We provide all these services to the communities thanks to people whom want to indulge in doing good. They are drawn by an internal desire to help people achieve and succeed. We have a special name for these types of people “Heroes”.

Heroes get involved in a grassroots campaign where local businesses, schools, church groups, civic clubs, and individuals pledge to raise $1,000 for their local Red Cross Chapter. This year, our Chapter hopes to create dozens of heroes through penny drives, percentage of sales, on-line donations, staff challenges and more. The options are countless. The rewards are endless. The time is now to become a Hero.
